World, jazz and improvisational music for alphorn, didgeridoo, saxophone and percussion.
With the sound of exotic giant clams, Hawaiian tonewoods, a Norwegian lure, Australian didgeridoos, Bavarian alphorns, a saxophone and various percussion instruments, this group effortlessly weave composed and improvised music into fascinating and artistic soundscapes from classic, blues, folk and jazz. It’s no wonder that these five musicians from the Brandenburger Symphoniker orchestra gave their ensemble the name of Jacaranda, a tropical deciduous tree native to eastern Brazil whose wood is coloured from chocolate to purplish brown – known to us as rosewood. A floral rarity and quite a suitable name for its musical counterpart. “Feelings, moods, timeless and limitless moments of sensual immersion are what we want to address,” is the credo of the ensemble.
