Besides taking part in opera performances and big symphonic events, many musicians of the Staatskapelle Berlin also play in chamber music groups. One of them is the Salon Orchestra “Unter'n Linden”. Its members came together out of pure enthusiasm and curiosity to explore and adopt well-known gems of coffee shop music, try out new arrangements and perform them in highest quality. Their repertoire consists of compositions by Albert Lortzing, Paul Lincke, Jacques Offenbach, Johann Strauss, Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvořák but also of works by composers whose names are less known today: Dostal, Rubinstein, Godard, Benatzky and many others. In good tradition, the orchestra collaborates with well-known singers. At Choriner Musiksommer, they will be joined by Dagmar Manzel and Juliane Grytzka to present their new programme.
