Bandleader Andrej Hermlin still believes in the originals, in the bands of the 1930s and 40s, their swinging style and playful elegance. However, he learned to create his sounds autodidactically and eventually acquired an unmistakable style of his own. In addition, he reconstructed the musical arrangements of yesteryear and adapted his musicians’ sound equipment and costumes to the taste of the time. When they appear again at Choriner Musiksommer now, the audience’s eyes and ears should, as always, get what they expect. The band leader’s 19-year-old daughter Rachel and her brother Daniel, three years older, will once again be the soloists. Let’s go!
