Relax and enjoy: nature-inspired music
Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio, Poznan
Anna Duczmal-Mrózl · conductor
Ludwig van Beethoven · Moonlight Sonata in C# minor op. 27 no. 2
(String arrangement by Jakub Kowalewski)
Lew Knipper · Radif, Suite in Iranian Style
Antonin Dvořák · String Quartet no. 12 in F major op. 96 “American Quartet” (arranged by Agnieszka Duczmal)
For the first time in the more than 50 years of their history, they will be coming to Chorin: the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio, founded by Agnieszka Duczmal in 1968 and led by her ever since. The ensemble may not be well known in these parts, but they have long gained themselves an international reputation through their world-spanning tours as well as radio and CD recordings, and critics have praised their “brilliant technique, wealth of expression, precision and virtuosity”. These are all requirements for performing Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, a work that ramps up from entrancing emotional effect to dramatic excitement. Knipper’s Radif Suite introduces us to the miraculous world of traditional Iranian music with its abundance of inventive melodic figuration. An idyllic touch is provided by Dvořák’s American String Quartet, which gives us another flavour of nature-inspired sounds to sit back and enjoy listening.
